What To Do One Day Before CA Inter Exam

With only 20 hours to study before your CA Intermediate exam, effective utilization of this time is key. Pre-planning your schedule and gathering your study material can make all the difference. This article shares tips to help you maximize your revision time.

Preparation Essentials for Exam Days

Ensure you are completely aware of all syllabus topics and have summarized notes and a list of questions ready for the 1.5 days of revision. Stick to your chosen study material for the final read. Keep base formats for practical questions and all formulas handy for quick revision. Review past years’ RTPs and MTPs (at least the last two) and list important questions. Revise case study MCQs well in advance and create a repository of MCQs to go through before the exam day.

Time Management and Timetable

Practical Papers (Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Financial Management)

  • 1.5 Days for Preparation:

    • Go through every single concept in the textbook.
    • Revise your formulae multiple times.
    • Skim through base formats for major chapters.
    • Prepare a list of important sums to understand the learnings, not to work the numbers.
  • On the Exam Day:

    • Refer to your mock test papers to identify and avoid previous mistakes.
    • Go through your attempt’s RTP & MTP and review the list of important questions from other RTPs, MTPs, and past papers.
    • Revise your formulae for the last time.

Theory Papers (Law, Audit, Taxation, EIS, SM, Economics)

  • 1.5 Days for Preparation:

    • Use summary notes for revision; avoid detailed explanations on every section/topic.
    • Revise your list of section/clause numbers and penalties multiple times.
    • Go through the repository of MCQs prepared for each subject.
    • For Taxation, avoid solving questions but scribble down rough formats for important chapter sums from memory.
  • On the Exam Day:

    • Go through your attempt’s RTP & MTP, followed by other RTPs, MTPs, and past papers.
    • Revise your list of section/clause numbers and penalties for the last time.

Pro Tip: Keep in mind the section-wise weightage given by ICAI.

  • Covering new topics or sums on the eve of your exam: Stick to revision.
  • Attempting papers or solving detailed questions on revision days: Focus on key points and summaries.
  • Eating oily meals: They can upset your stomach, make you drowsy, and ruin your mood.
  • Compromising on sleep: Ensure 6-7 hours of rest before the exam.
  • Taking unnecessary stress or pressure: Stay calm and focused.

"Koncept perfectly justifies what it sounds, i.e, your concepts are meant to be cleared if you are a Konceptian. My experience with Koncept was amazing. The most striking experience that I went through was the the way Yash sir and Ruchika ma'am taught us in the lectures, making it very interesting and lucid. Another great feature of Koncept is that you get mentor calls which I think drives you to stay motivated and be disciplined. And of course it goes without saying that Yash sir has always been like a friend to me, giving me genuine guidance whenever I was in need. So once again I want to thank Koncept Education for all their efforts."
